Why use Barcode?

Incorporating barcodes for sales transactions and inventory will help your company to increase work efficiency. In BMO Point of Sales System, you can easily search, input or filter items using the barcode scanner. You or your employees just need to manually insert each item's manufacturing code (by scanning or typing) when inserting the item to the system.




Item Barcode

How to Generate Barcode

1. Login to your POS Client by keying in your details.

2. Go to "Inventory" page.

3. Insert the MFGCode. Then, select your item from the item list.

NOTE: A barcode will be generated at the bottom of the page as highlighted below.

4. After generating the barcode, you can choose to save the barcode image or print it. Please refer below for further details.




Save as Picture

1. To save the generated barcode as image, click "Save Barcode" button next to the generated barcode.

2. Then choose the destination for the image to be saved and click Save.

3. The barcode will then be saved at the destination choosen. Click "OK" to dismiss the message window.

Print using Normal Printer

1. At inventory page, select the required items and click "Barcode".

To select random items Press Ctrl key and click on items
To select multiple items in a row Press Shift key and click on items
To select all items click on the small square next to the "No." column.

2. The print barcode page will be prompted.

3. You can view the list of items and barcodes that will be printed. You can choose your printer for printing, the size of the barcode and also the details that will appear below the barcode.

Finally, click "Print" after you have done configuring the barcode printing setting.

Print using Thermal Printer

Thermal printers are commonly used with retailers, distributors and restaurants as they are an efficient method of refering to your products / orders with barcodes. In other words, BMO Point of Sales System allows your goods to be updated conveniently under RFID technology.

Direct and simple to operate compared to other printing devices. Thermal printers involves no ribbons or replenishing toners.




Scan with Laser Scanner

Only barcodes printed using thermal printer can be scanned using the laser scanner.




Scan with CCD Scanner

Barcodes cannot be scanned using CCD Scanner.




Print using Barcode Printer

If your company products require professional labeling, it would be advisable for you to use a barcode printer to fulfil your company's needs. Faster and more efficient, barcode printers are specially designed to print quality barcodes while keeping the barcode ratios accurate. If the barcode is not printed properly, your barcode scanners would not be able to scan it.




Argox with Argox Software & POS Software

1. Click "Setting" and insert your login details to login to your POS Client Settings page.

2. To set the Argox printer as your barcode printer, go to the setting's page and click "General" tab.

Go to "Barcode Printer" and click "..."

3. Search for Argox printer (or other barcode printers that you wish to use). Then click "Apply" and followed by "Print".

4. The printer choosen will then be inserted to the Barcode Printer field.

Click "Apply" and re-log in to the POS Offline Terminal after the initial sync is completed.

How and Where to Use

In BMO POS System, there are many areas where you can use your barcode scanner to save time. Commonly, it would be used during:

  • items checkout
  • inserting product items into inventory.


Below are some simple steps on how and where you could use the barcode scanner.


Item Transaction

Item barcode can be used during transactions in your POS Offline Terminal.


1. Login to the main POS Client window.

2. To search for the item that will be transacted, you just need to place the cursor at the MFG Code field, click on it and then scan the barcode of the item.

3. The item will be automatically added to the list. You can now check out the item.

Inventory

You can also scan the barcode to enter the manufacturing code when inserting a new item into inventory.

1. Login to the main POS Client window.

2. Click "Inventory" button.

3. Check "New Item" checkbox and click "Yes" to clear the previous item info.

4. Insert the item's information and click on MFG Code column.

5. Scan the barcode on the item and click "New Item" button as highlighted below.

6. Click "OK" to confirm inserting item.

7. A message will be prompt to notify you that the new item is inserted. Click "OK" to dismiss the message.

Before you can start selling your items, you need to receive your items. For more information on receiving items, please refer to Receive Items Tutorial.




Generate Barcodes and Attach to Items

If you wish to first generate barcodes (similar pattern of MFGCode) for all items before attaching the MFGCodes to the item, you can generate the barcodes using the POS Offline terminal.


1. Login to the main POS Client window.

2. Click "Inventory" button.

3. Click the "Barcode" button.

4. Then in the "Print Barcode" window, you will first need to clear the item list if any item is listed. Select the item row and click "Clear" to clear the item info

5. All information is cleared as shown below.

6. You can now enter the prefixes and the range of suffix for the item's barcode accordingly.

7. After you have configure the barcode prefixes and suffixes, click "Generate" to generate the item's code.

8. Finally, click "Print" to print the generated barcodes.

9. You can now scan the printed barcode to attach them to the required items.




Receipts with Barcodes

You can also generate receipts with barcode. This can help employees to easily retrieve receipt for payment especially for the Food and Beverage Industry.

Print using Online Generated Picture

Off the Shelf Barcode Printer

1. Go to Pos Market home page or click the link www.posmarket.com.my In the Pos Market home page, click in 'Login / Register' section.

2. Login to your POS Market account.

3. In your POS Market account home page, go to Item >>> Item List.

4. Choose item from the item list and click 'View Mfg' to view item manufacturing code.

5. To print barcode for the selected item, click on 'Print' beside the first barcode.

6. A barcode page will pop out, right-click your mouse and select Print to proceed.

7. An item printing box will pop out. Click 'Print' button after you confirm your barcode printer is Argox A-2140 PPLB.

8. To print item barcode according to item category, click on 'Print' beside the second barcode.

9. An item printing box will pop out. Click 'Print' button after you confirm your barcode printer is Argox A-2140 PPLB.

10. To print all the items barcode, click 'Print Mfg Code' in the Item List page.

11. An item printing box will pop out. Click 'Print' button to print out all the items barcode after you confirm your barcode printer is Argox A-2140 PPLB.

Print using Normal Inkjet Printer

1. Go to Pos Market home page or click the link www.posmarket.com.my In the Pos Market home page, click in 'Login / Register' section.

2. Login to your POS Market account.

3. In your POS Market account home page, go to Item >>> Item List.

4. Choose item from the item list and click 'View Mfg' to view item manufacturing barcode.

10. Select Brother MFC-J625DW Printer as your bacode printer.

11. Click 'Print' button after you confirm your barcode printer is Brother MFC-J625DW Printer.

12. To print all the items barcode, click 'Print Mfg Code' in the Item List page.

13. An item printing box will pop out. Click 'Print' button to print out all the items barcode after you confirm your barcode printer is Brother MFC-J625DW Printer.

Print using Offline Client Generated Picture

Off the Shelf Barcode Printer

1. Go to POS Client Setting.

3. In the Setting, go to General section. Click on scroll button beside Barcode Printer column to set your barcode printer.

4. Select Argox CP-2140 PPLB as your barcode printer and click 'Apply'.

5. Click 'Apply' to confirm set Argox printer as your POS barcode printer.

6. A message box will pop out, click 'OK' to start initial sync.

7. Another message box will pop out and show that new setting has been downloaded. Click 'OK' to dismiss the message.

8. Restart bmo application by clicking the BMO offline pos again.

11. An Inventory page will pop out. Select an item from item list.

17. Insert Extra Text for barcode. However, this is an optional. Customer can left it blank.

Print using Thermal Printer

POS 58

1. Go to POS Client Setting.

5. Click 'Apply' to confirm set POS 58 thermal printer as your POS barcode printer.
