Wifi Thermal Printer Introduction

BMO POS System includes a POS Wifi printer module (multiple receipt printer enabled) to allow thermal receipt printing. BMO Point of Sales System are compatible with a wide range of thermal receipt printers. It is also ideal for retail businesses, food and beverage, hospitality and so on.

RP80 Wifi Thermal Printer Installation

1. Go to POS Market Download Page.

Click "Downloads" at the top menu bar. Under POS Terminal Devices Other Drivers table, search for 80mm WiFi Thermal Printer driver that match with your OS(operating system). Then, click "Download".

2. After downloading the Zip file, unzip the folder and double-click on the RP80 Driver folder.

3. Double-click on "RP80SetupEN.exe" as shown in images below to install the driver into your point of sales system.

4. Click "Next" as shown below.

5. Select 'I accept the agreement" and click 'Next'.

6. User can change the prefer folder location to install. By default, just click 'Next' to proceed.

  • at least 4.4 MB free disk space is required for install

7. Click on 'Install' to install.

8. The driver is installing.

10. Click 'Finish' to finish the installation.

RP80 Wifi Thermal Printer Setting

1. On Windows 'Start' menu, open 'Control Panel'.

2. Select 'Devices and Printers'.

3. Right click on 'RP80 Printer' to open 'Printer properties', some computers only have 'Properties' then open 'Properties'.

4. On 'General' tab, click 'Print Test Page' to print out a test page, if the test page does not print, proceed to the step 5. below.

5. click 'Ports' tab, switch the port between USB by tick the port and click 'Apply' to apply. Kindly wait for a while after apply.

Repeat step 5. until a test page printed. If the port select correctly, a test page will be printed.

RP80 Wifi Thermal Printer Connection Setting

  • RP80 Printer WiFi setup can only be done by using RS323 cable, if your PC does not has RS323 port, kindly find a RS323 to USB converter.

1. Open 'Device Manager' and click 'Ports (COM & LPT)' to look for COM port number of RP80 Receipt Printer.

2. Open 'Command Prompt' and type 'ipconfig' and press enter, the details will be shown as below image.

For example: The IP below is 10.0.0.38, we need an available IP for the printer. we can do ping test in the command prompt.

The possible available IP is between 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.254.

Different PC might has different IP, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, remain the three set in front, if the IP is 10.0.0.38, we change it to 10.0.0.245. Here by, we take an IP 10.0.0.245 for testing.

Enter 'ping 10.0.0.245' and press enter in the command prompt, if the command reply 'Destination host unreachable', that means this IP is available to use.

3. After that, open the downloaded 'RP80 Driver&Tool' folder.

4. Open 'WiFi Setting Tool' folder.

6. After open the 'WiFiTool', go to 'IP' tab, enter an available IP into the 'IP' field. We enter 10.0.0.245 as it is an available IP for the network.

Change the 'COM' port to the one we checked in step 1, also change the 'Baudrate' to 9600.

After entered the 'IP' and change the 'Port' and 'Baudrate', click the 'SET' button, the printer will print a little bit.

  • If the printer did not print, change the 'Baudrate' to 19200 and click 'SET' again.

7. After that, go to 'WiFi' tab, enter 'SSID' also known as wifi name into the field.

For the WiFi security, depends on the network, If your network security is 'WPA/WPA2', then select 'WPA/WPA2', if 'WEP', then select 'WEP'.

The Authentication Type and Encryption Algorithm need to set follow by the network.

Change the 'COM' port to the one we checked in step 1, also change the Baudrate to 9600.

After enter the WiFi details and change the 'Port' and 'Baudrate', click the 'SET' button, the printer will print a little bit.

  • If the printer did not print, change the 'Baudrate' to 19200 and click 'SET' again.
  • Do not forget to enter 'PSK KEY'/'KEY' if you have password for your WiFi.

8. If you do the setting correctly, you will get a receipt which looks like the image below.

9. Once the RP80 Printer IP Address and WiFi are set. open 'RP80 Printer Properties' and click 'Add Port'.

10. Select the 'Standard TCP/IP port' and click 'New Port'.

11. Enter the IP as you set it in step 6. and click 'Next' to proceed.

12. The detecting screen will be showed, wait until it finished.

13. Click 'Next' to proceed.

14. Click 'Finish' to end the add port section.

15. If the port successfully added, it will show as the image below.

16. Go to 'General' tab and click 'Print test page' to print a test page by using wifi.

17. If the setting correct, the PC will print a test page as shown in the image below.
