How to Setup Employee Commission

The POS system is able to calculate 1 level of commission to employee. We call it service by commission. You can decide which item will provide commission and which employee that will get the commission. This employee commission is useful for businesses such as Hair Salon and Beauty Salon. It is applicable when hair salon assistants washes customer's hair and every customer they attend to will be given a certain amount of commission by percentage set by the employer.

Create New Item with Commission

Before the system is able to record which item has commission for your employees, you need to create the item and attach the function to it. If you want to create a new item, follow the guide below.


1. Login to POS Client.

2. In the POS Terminal, proceed to 'Stock' section.

3. An Inventory page will pop out. Select 'New Item' box.

5. Insert new item details.

6. Make sure you tick the 'Provide 1st level employee comm' box. So that the item sales can generate sales agent commission.

7. Click 'Save As New Item' to create new item with commission.

8. A message box will pop out. Click 'OK' to confirm insert the new item.

9. Another message box will pop out and show that new item is added. Click 'OK' to dismiss the message.

10. The new item is now created.

Receive New Item With Commission

After creating the item entry, you need to receive stock before you can start selling your products. Otherwise the system will not allow you to sell (unless your item does not require physical control).


1. Login to POS Client.

2. In the POS Terminal, proceed to 'Stock' section.

3. An Inventory page will pop out. Select the new item that you created just now.

4. Click 'Receive' button.

5. A Receive Inventory box will pop out. Insert the quantity received for the item in 'Receive Qty' column.

6. Click 'Apply' to perform.

7. If user did not enter the cost amount, a message below will show, click 'OK' if user want the item receive without cost.

8. A bmo message box will pop out and show that item is received. Click 'OK' to dismiss the message.

9. Item with commission is received now. You can check the item quantity from 'Balance' column.

Update Item with Commission

After some time, you may have a pile of your stocks / services without giving out commission. Perhaps, you want to encourage your sales team to gain more sales of that particular product. You can just enable the Sales Agent Commission function and commission will be given out to the employee who handled the item transaction. Below is a short guide on how you can do so.


1. Login to POS Client.

2. In the POS Terminal, proceed to 'Stock' section.

3. An Inventory page will pop out. Select an existing item from item list and click 'Edit Item'.

4. Tick 'Provide 1st level employee comm' box to enable the employee commission for the item.

5. Click 'Save' to update the setting.

6. A message box will pop out. Click 'OK' to confirm update the item details.

7. Another message box will pop out and show that item is updated. Click 'OK' to dismiss the message.

Set Employee Commission (Online)

If you have new employees or existing ones whom you want them to receive the commission, you can simple set it in their employee's account.


1. Go to POS Market home page or click this link. In the POS Market home page, click 'Login / Register' on the top menu bar.

2. Login to your POS Market account.

3. In yout POS Market account, go to Employee >>> Employee List.

4. Select an employee and click 'action'.

5. Click 'Edit' to change the employee details.

6. Go to employee's 'AGENT COMMISSION' section.

7. Insert the agent commission percentage in 'Commission' column.

8. Click 'Save' to apply.

9. A message box will pop out and show that date is updated. Click 'OK' to dismiss the message.

Set Employee Commission (Offline)

With constant updates from BMO team, you can now set your employee commission via offline POS System as well. It is very simple and you can do it over your POS Terminal as shown below.

1. Login to POS Client with select the option.

2. Select the Human Resource Management Client and enter User Name and Password to login.

3. In the Human Resource Management module, go to Employee >>> Employee List.

4. Select an employee from Employee List.

5. Click 'Edit' button to change employee details.

6. Go to 'Agent Commission' section.

7. Insert agent commission percentage in 'Commission' column.

8. Click 'Save' to apply.

9. A bmo message box will pop out and show that employee detail is saved. Click 'OK' to dismiss the message.

In order to manage your employees, you need to change your POS System user interface for Human Resource Management. Below is a short guide on how you can change the user interface via the POS terminal setting's window.

Change POS Client Setting

1. Choose the option for login.

2. Choose the Point Of Sales Client and enter User Name and Password to login.

In order to record the commission accurately, your cashier has to select the Service By correctly so that the commission will accumulate at employee's account accordingly.

Make Sales that Generate Employee Commission

1. Login to POS Client.

2. In the POS Terminal, scroll down and select a contact.

3. Select an item with commission to make transaction.

4. Click on the blank item 'Served By' column.

5. A Service By box will pop out. Select the employee who serves the customer.

6. After selected, click 'Confirm' to apply. The 'Serv By' column will showed the selected employee name.

7. Scroll down and select the employee who opens the receipt from 'Opened By'. The 'Opened By' field will showed the selected employee name.

8. Insert the payment amount in the 'Tendered' column.

9. Click 'Cash' to make payment.

10. A transaction box will pop out and show that transaction is done. Click 'Close' button to dismiss the transaction box.

At the end of the day, you would like to check your store's sales and the total commission your employees have collected. You can easily log into the system and check the Service By reports by date as shown below.

View Employee Commission

1. Login to POS Client.

3. Select date and click 'Search' button to show receipts.

4. Click 'Reports' go to reports section.

5. Select 'General Reports'.

6. Select to view employee commission from 'Service By','Service By Detail' and 'Service By Category' report.
